The Panther JV football team traveled to Lamesa this afternoon to take on the Golden Tornados. Although the game ended in a 22-22 tie the young Panthers put on a tremendous show of team work. They all stood behind each other with loads of encouragement expressed towards one another.

Offensively the Panthers were lead on the field sophomore quarterback Kendrick Porras who did an fantastic job managing the game and keeping the Panthers in great field position. The Panthers first touchdown was scored by freshman running back Jaydrian Ramirez who took the toss 69 yards to the house. The 2 point conversion was good with a 3 yard run by Jayden Luna. Scoring next for the Panthers was sophomore Eric Lopez. The 2 point conversion was no good. The biggest score of the night giving the Panthers a shot at the lead was a 88 yard run straight up the gut by Jayden Luna. With the 2 point conversion good by Kendrick Porras.

Defensively the Panthers rallied to the ball making it hard for Lamesa to gain any extra yards after first contact. Allen Adame played excellent inside linebacker giving the Panthers some big momentum sparks with some head crushing hits. In the secondary Josh Escontries played some shut down corner not allowing any deep passes over his head. Eric Lopez had a big interception fueling the Panthers late in the second quarter to go score before going in at the half.

The JV teams wants to send a shout out to the young freshman who step up and came to compete with them. "We appreciate their hard work and dedication and look forward to are future with them!"

As the JV season comes to an end we want to give a big shout out to all the players who participated in the 2019 season. Thank you for your hard work and willingness to compete. Keep grinding, stay focused, and make the best of your future. #StrengthInNumbers
