Thursday September 19, the Panthers JV football team loaded up the bus and traveled to San Angelo to take on the Lake View Chiefs. They started out the game rolling, moving the ball up and down the field as a unit. Although the Panthers were down on the score board at the end of the game 21-6 they played hard and fast the entire game.

Offensively the Panthers were lead by first time quarterback Bryan Garcia who did a tremendous job stepping into such a big role for the first time since middle school. With only 3 practices under his belt he was able to lead the offense up and down the field totaling over 250 total yards on offense. He completed a 3rd and long pass to Jose (Hondo) Marquez for a gain of 52 yards. The big play of the game came on a reverse pass that scored the solo touchdown for the Panthers it was a combination between; Brian Garcia's toss to Adrian Navarrete, Navarrete's reverse hand off to Eric Lopez and a Lopez's pass to Jose (Hondo) Marquez for a 74 yard touch down reception. Unfortunately the conversion was no good.

Defensively the Panthers were lead by junior defensive end Ronnie Romero who lit up the lights on the field with 5 tackles for loss including a sack. Elias Tercero was right there with him getting two sacks himself totaling -15 yards.

The Panthers look forward to rebuilding from this loss and get ready to take on the Pecos Eagles next Thursday night on their home turf.

The Panthers fall to 0-2 on the year.
